Mark DeRoseResponsibilities
Mark is the leading force of ServiceStar developments, from investor procurement and project conceptualization to financial negotiations, construction planning and community relations.

Perspective
“We approach every development with the goal of sustainability, relevance and long-lasting value to the community. There’s a sense of deep personal pride in visiting projects we developed years ago and seeing that they’re still an essential focus of their neighborhoods.”

“The key to successful project development is really listening to all the stakeholders and crafting solutions that are mutual wins for everyone – investors, municipalities, developers and communities. In this way, we assure that communities welcome and continue to support the projects we propose.”

“You’ll find that we stretch ourselves to take on projects we’ve never tried before, simply because we’re comfortable with complex, unique circumstances. Through honest, ongoing communication, our large group of loyal investors knows that we’re protecting their financial interests.”

Experience
Since his first project in 1987, Mark has grown ServiceStar from a small built-to-suit construction firm to a national developer of multifaceted projects. To date, ServiceStar has completed over $500 million in open-air lifestyle centers, mixed-use projects, neighborhood retail centers and build-to-suit opportunities. The scope of ServiceStar projects has expanded over time to include major national retailers as well as local convenience-related merchants.

In large part, the success of ServiceStar can be attributed to Mark’s hands-on management style and close working relationship with the company’s streamlined leadership team. Mark continues to earn the trust and respect of investors, municipalities and tenants through his straightforward manner and flexible approach to problem solving.

Many ServiceStar projects are financed through real estate limited liability companies or joint ventures in which Mark serves as managing partner.
